J&FJ Baker社に眠っていた、非常に古いオークバークタンニングレザーで作られたベルトです。
もともと鐙用に鞣された、厚さ約５ｍｍの非常に丈夫な革で、表面に小さな傷があるという理由で検品不合格になり、工場の隅に山積みにされ、50年以上忘れ去られていたそうです。
革は濃い茶色に手染めされており、強い革の匂いがします。
まさに昔ながらの手間のかかる作業でつくられた革です。今、同じように作ったとしたら大変高価になるであろうと思われます。
ひとつひとつ表情が異なり、色、厚みもまちまち。そんな革から切り出され、作製されたベルトになります。
今回入荷した分についても、Size(S)は赤みの強い濃い茶、Size(XS)は黒に近い濃い茶ですが、上記の通りランダムなものになりますのでどんなものがお手元に届くのかもお楽しみいただけますと幸いです。

Product Description
A truly exceptional belt crafted from rare, vintage oak bark tanned leather discovered in the archives of J&FJ Baker.
Originally tanned for use as stirrup leather, this material measures approximately 5mm in thickness, offering remarkable durability and strength.
Due to minor surface imperfections, the hides were rejected during inspection and left stacked in a corner of the factory—where they remained forgotten for over 50 years.
Each piece has since been hand-dyed into a deep, rich brown tone, retaining the distinct, powerful aroma of traditional leather. This is leather produced through time-intensive, heritage methods—techniques that would make it extraordinarily costly to replicate today.
Every belt is cut from these unique hides, resulting in natural variations in color, thickness, and texture. Shades may range from warm reddish dark brown to nearly black tones, making each piece entirely one of a kind. The element of surprise is part of its charm.
Finished with a sand-cast buckle made in England, this belt embodies true British craftsmanship.
